Dominic Chaklos is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and concentrated his studies on intellectual property law. During law school, Dominic interned at a large music management firm, which focused on electronic music. Prior to law school, Dominic worked in live concert promotion while attending the University of San Diego.
At LaPolt Law, Dominic drafts and negotiates agreements relating to the music business including recording agreements, publishing agreements, producer agreements, remixer agreements, work for hire agreements, management agreements, rights clearance, live touring related agreements, merchandising agreements, and various other agreements. Additionally, Dominic handles matters specifically relating to electronic and dance music, residency performances, independent record labels, new media, influencers, sponsorships, endorsements, and social media. Further, Dominic helps clients to make informed decisions regarding business development and brand management.
In his free time, Dominic is an avid concert goer and loves action sports, especially snowboarding.
